WHAT TO EXPECT

We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at The Refuge a great one.  Our goal is to make you feel right at home at The Refuge!

 
 

Located just off of E Main Street in Russellville, we have a large parking lot surrounding our church, so finding a spot is easy.  If you are a first time guest, we also have special reserved spots just for you right up close to the building.  Feel free to arrive a few minutes early to grab a coffee and check in your kids before the worship service starts. 

 
 

Safety for our children is a top priority at The Refuge. All of our volunteers have been screened with detailed background checks as well as trained to make church a fun and safe environment for your kids!  Simply get your kids checked in at the Kids Check-in on the left side of the lobby before entering the auditorium.  We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early for your first visit with your children.  This will provide plenty of time to get your kids checked in and have you in your seat prior to the beginning of the service.

 
 

Kid's programming for birth through 6th grade is available during the 10:15am worship service.  Your kids will be able to experience a worship service much like ours - with slight adjustments based on their age group.  Our goal is to provide powerful gospel experiences just for kids!  They will worship, hear the Word of God, and have lots of fun with our amazing kids volunteers!  

 
 

During our worship gatherings we sing songs and listen to a teaching from one of our pastors. The service lasts about an hour and 15 minutes.  It's super laid back and there is absolutely nothing to worry about.  You do not have to wear anything fancy!  A pair of jeans and a t-shirt is perfectly acceptable worship attire at The Refuge.

 
 

At The Refuge, we believe that the Word of God is a transforming power that produces results.  Following the music portion of our worship service, we hear a message from the Word of God.  Usually delivered by Pastor Scott or one of our other teachers, this portion of the services lasts about 35-40 minutes.  We encourage you to bring a Bible and notebook where you can follow along and/or take notes during the sermon.
